LAST Friday night’s dance seemed to be a real success. The turnout was great! In fact, the S.C.A. made over a hundred dollars. The band sponsored a “Name the Band” contest and anyone interested wrote down their suggestions along with their name for the band to look over. The band’s going to decide which they like best and award that person with a T-shirt printed up with the band’s new name. This is the first local band we’ve had for a dance in quite a while and everyone seemed to enjoy them.
Mrs. Toth has entered six members oftheR.C.H.S. Creative Writing Society in the Virginia High School League writing contest. There are three entry categories. Those entering the contest are Beth Parker and Maureen Day, poetry; Cindy Cummins and Mark Perdue, short story; Pat Dodson and Andy Nichols, essay. We wish all of them the best of luck!
