ON APRIL 9 THE RAPPAHANNOCK Library had an evening awards party for the 21 contestants in the 19* ^ Libiaiv Hook Review Contest for High School students, lirst prize was gi\en loi Hie 11th and 12th grades contest to Sue fitchenell. second to Lai iv Smoot. For the 8th, yth and lUth grades contest, lirst prize went to Nina Metzinger, second to Rachel Grimslev, ard to L ns Kuhn. Honorable mentions were awarded to trances Craj. Sarah Alassie and Jimmy Swindler. Two reviews deserved special mention and were read in part to the assembled students, parents and judges. They were the reviews of Joanna Sobel and ol lorn E. Lee.
Judges stated that this year's contestants showed less disparity between the quality of the winning reviews and the othei entnes. “They evidenced a higher average ability ol expression, commented George E. Muth, a judge of both the 19<-i and iy< a booh review contests. He added: “The reviews in general showed good grasp and strong interest on the part ol all contestants. _
