Dried flower sale
THE WOMEN OF TRINITY EPISCOPAL Church in Washington, Va. will hold their 18th Annual Dried Flower Sale October 18 -19. Dried flower arrangements will be sold at the Parish House on Saturday, October 18, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and on Sunday, October 19, from 1 to 5 p.m. These arrangements, which will retain their beauty for years if properly cared for, are the product of hours of work by the women of the church, starting in late spring and early summer when the first flowers suitable for drying come into bloom. The same weekend the Rappahannock Historical Society will sponsor a tour of four interesting houses in the area. Tea will be served at one of the houses, and at another there will be a demonstration Saturday of weaving on a loom and a basket weaving demonstration on Sunday. Information on the house tour can be obtained at the church. Box lunches will be sold both days by the First Baptist Church of Washington, Va., and Saturday evening starting at 5 p.m. the Baptist and Methodist churches of Flint Hill will hold a joint church supper at the Flint Hill Fire Hall.
