“That’s not feasible,” said Davis. “What we need in the court house is more room for courtconnected operations.. .The county is going to have to consider an office building.”
Supervisor H. B. Wood shook his head. “We had ?,000 people living in the county 20 years ago, and now we’ve only got 5,000— but we need more space!”
Clerk Jones read a report on the “office space meeting,” which he said was attended by Judge Rayner Snead, Judge Moffett, Commonwealth’s Attorney Davis, Sheriff W. A. Bun tin, himself and “a member of the bar.” The report concluded that extra space is needed for the sheriff and the commonwealth’s clerk, and a room of witnesses. Jones said the clerk’s office needs “double” the space it now has.
