We feel that there are somefacts regarding kindergarten for Rappahannock County which need to be emphasized.
(1) The Virginia State Department of Education requires all districts to provide kindergarten although attendance is not mandatory.
(2) If the Rappahannock School Board does not submit an acceptable kindergarten program by the end of February, the Virginia State Department of Education can demand to be paid what amounts to a $33,000 fine. This is a disgraceful waste of county taxes.
