MOST recent acquisitions of thieves in Rappahannock are white pine trees and lambs.
This week, eight white pine trees were taken from the property of E.T. Addi near The Kennels, according to Sheriff W. A. Bun tin. Mr. Addi has grown and cared for the trees at his home in Fairfax and then transplated the five-foot trees to his Rappahannock acreage recently. This week they are gone, and it looked as if they had just been pulled up rather than dug, said the Sheriff.
Between seven and ten lambs, each worth about $40, were taken from the farm of Judge and Mrs. John Rothrock near Amissville last week. The animals, weighing between 40 and 50 pounds, were from a flock which is normally disposed of on a special market, namely restaurants, said Mrs. Rothrock, and bring a good price.
