Jenkins

John Henry Jenkins, 84, of Slate Mills died March 10, 1976 at Culpeper Memorial Hospital. He was a native of Rappahannock County, the son of the late John L. and Annie Jenkins. His wife was the late Betty Jenkins. He was a retired farmer.

He is survived by eight daughters, Mrs. Martha Smoot of Pooles - ville, Md., Mrs. Nancy Meredith, Mrs. Marie Smoot, and Mrs. Ruth Leake, all of Culpeper, Mrs. Margaret Aylor of Aylor, Mrs. Ethel Jenkins of Criglersville and Miss Gladys Jenkins and Miss Nina Jenkins, both of Slate Mills; five sons, Clarence W. Jenkins, Gid Jenkins, and John Thomas Jenkins, all of Slate Mills, James Russell Jenkins of Culpeper and Andrew Lee Jenkins of Criglersville; 32 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren; and two sisters, Mrs. Fred Jenkins of Slate Mills and Mrs. Cooper Jenkins of Culpeper.

Funeral services were conducted Friday at Geest Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Percy Bane. Burial was in Fairview Cemetery.
