EYE TISSUE that is provided through the humanitarian service of the Old Dominion Eye Bank is neither bought nor sold, it is supplied without charge to the transplant recipient.
Hudgins said approximately ten percent of those now blind can be given the “gift of sight” through corneal transplants. Anyone wishing to pledge their eyes, on death, to the eye bank for the purpose of restoring sight to someone now blind can do so by getting an eye donor card from any member of a local Lions Club or by contacting the Old Dominion Eye Bank and Research, Inc., 408 North 12th Street, Richmond, 23219.□
