CHAIRMAN Pete Luke was enthusiastic; Supervisors H. B. Wood and Clarence Baldwin were skeptical.
“The problem is how do we increase the people’s awareness of the need for re-cycling,” said Mayor Kramer. “We need a major educational effort.” He admitted the program would be “a money losing” proposition to begin with, but he predicted that it could realize great savings to the county later on.
It would also be a good way to “save our precious natural resources,” the Mayor added.
