The Supervisors thought the values placed on county properties were too low, and ask the two real estate men to look into the matter.
They estimated that the court house should be insured for $132,000, as opposed to the originally proposed figure of $78,000. Other findings were as follows, with the original figures in perentheses:
The clerk’s building, $39,000 ($21,000); the treasurer’s' office, $18,500 ($8,500); the Extension Service office, $13,000 ($7,500); the jail, $90,000 ($53,000). The total figure, including allowances for contents of these buildings, came to $302,000, as opposed to die original total of $168,000.
THE Supervisors thought these figures were more realistic and instructed Clerk Ned Jones to obtain insurance based on the higher estimates.
