A two-year funding shortfall of $165,000 “will drastically reduce our ability to meet the goals in the sixyear secondary road plan,” highway department resident engineer Don Askew reported to the Rappahannock supervisors at Monday’s monthly board meeting.

According to Askew, the county can expect $345,062 in fiscal year 1980-81, “down significantly” from last year’s original projection of $432,000. That initial secondary road money estimate was cut by $77,000 last October, he recalled, and coupled with this year’s reduction, brings the shortfall to approximately $165,000 for 1979-81.
