carnival parade were Kay Johnston, Dotty Davis, Segar Jones and Millie Dodson. Sunday school rooms at Willis Chapel Church at Huntly were dedicated and Dr. Hugh Burleigh, superintendent of the Charlottesville District of Methodist churches was present. He was assisted in the service by the Rev. A. D. Goodson and the Rev. James B. Grimmer. Attending 4-H short course at VP I were Tommy Williams, Ellis Smith, Janet Yates, Gloria Durden and Eleanor Rector. Mr. and Mrs. Jimmy Anderson and family of Yuba City, Calif, were house guests of Mr. Anderson’s aunt, Mrs. A. C. Latham, Sr. from Saturday until Tuesday.

Funds are now available for a county health nurse. Pledges of $500 have been received from residents, enough to meet the county’s portion of expenses.
Edith Bonelli of Manhattan, New York has arrived at the home of Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Miller where she will visit for a month. Edith is a “fresh air’’ child, a program designed to get city children to the country.
Rappahannock National Bank installed a new oil furnace heating system for the bank building which includes the bank and four offices upstairs.
A relatively odorless, non-toxic deer repellent was introduced to orchard ists by V.P.I. tree fruits specialist Fred Dreiling.
