Evans
John Jackson Evans, 77, of Luray died June 30, 1980, at Page Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services were conducted Wednesday at the Bradley Funeral Home by the Rev. John K. Burke. Burial ' was in Beahm’s Chapel Cemetery.
Mr. Evans was born July 6, 1902, in Rappahannock County, a son of the late Joseph Lee and Betty Elizabeth Pullen Evans.
Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Hazel Allen Mathis Evans; a son, Roy Allen Mathis of Phoenix. Ariz.; a daughter, Janet Elizabeth Atkins of Gainesville; three sisters, Mrs. Mary Burke of Washington, Mrs. Janie Burke of Culpeper and Mrs. Susie Presgraves of Miramara. Fla., and four grandchildren.
