Both young women were in the town of Washington with their host families for the July 4 celebrations. “I loved it,” stated Kati, smiling her delight. "Our Independence Day in Finland is December 6 but we don’t celebrate like you Americans. All our shops are closed and in the evening, everybody puts two candles in their window. It’s beautiful but there are no fireworks!”
