On Tuesday, June 9, the Amissville Midget baseball team traveled to Warrenton to beat' the Cosners, 6-5. Lee Baines was the winning pitcher.
On Friday night, the Fauquier Midget League held its annual All-Star game. Amissville youngsters who played for the Southern team were Brett Anderson, Catcher; Mike Scott, 3rd base; Richie Adams, Center field; Jeff Smith, left field and Tommy Jenkins pitcher. The Southern team beat the Northern team 7-3, winning for the first time since AllStar play began.
On Monday night, Amissville hosted Warrenton, losing 2-1. Tommy Jenkins was the losing pitcher, with nine strike outs and four walks. Warrenton’s runs were all scored on errors.
