Pre-school screening
The Rappahannock County Public Schools will conduct developmental screening assessments for children age five and under at the elementary school on Jan. 22 and 23, from noon to 3 p.rrt. The screening will also be offered to school-age children with suspected learning Or developmental disorders. Parents with' children 'who they suspect may be developmentally delayed in crawling, walking or language, or may have problems with vi^jon, speech or hearing are urged to bring the child in for this free assessment. Testing takes approximately 30 minutes to one hour. For more information, contact the elementary school (987-8259).
United Way seeks donations
The Piedmont United Way will end its annual fundraising drive on Tuesday, Jah. 15. The agency, which encompasses 36 health and human services agencies in Culpeper, Rappahannock and surrounding counties, has set $56,444 as its fund drive goal for 1991. Last year, according to Executive Director Betty Roberts, the regional United Way assisted more than 10,000 people through 17 agencies. "This year, there are 36 agencies and many more people depending on your contributions," she said. Donations may be mailed to Piedmont United Way Inc., P.O. Box 398, Culpeper, VA 22701.
