“He should be a real boost,” Coach Leake said. “During the second half of the season, when other teams are losing players, we will be gaining a real asset. He should make a difference.”
The coach said one fear he always faces as winter sets in is cancellations due to weather. So far, only Tuesday night’s game against Brentsville has been cancelled (rescheduled to Wednesday, Jan. 16).
But last year, cancellations backed up the schedule until the Panthers faced four games in five nights. “There’s no wayjto keep a team fresh playing a schedule like that,” Coach Leake said.
