County receives litter award

The Rappahannock Anti-Litter League and You (RALLY) has received an Award of Recognition for its efforts toward litter control during 1990. The county was one of 97 localities honored by the Ninth Annual Clean Virginia Awards, presented by the Department of Waste Management. The awards recognize efforts toward community involvement in program development, public awareness and education, sustained cleanup, litter law enforcement and planning and implementing community recycling programs, according to DWM Director Cynthia Bailey. "The Clear! Virginia Awards recognize the dedicated efforts of the coordinators of the local programs, their board and countless volunteers statewide," Ms. Bailey said.
