To the editor:
The Persian Gulf War highlights problems with our current energy policies. These problems are especially acute in this community where our population and life style are so dependent on gasoline. Back in December, I saw a cartoon of an oil delivery truck with “Why we fight!” written in large letters on the tank. That’s not funny now.
According to the Wall Street Journal...
• Oil is the source of about 40 percent of America’s energy.
• The U.S. is the world leader in oil consumption, using twice as much per capita as European competitors.
