In spite of all these briefings and in spite of the hearings held in the crush of the legislative process, the Governor’s budget and the rumored amendments to it will still mandate local tax increases. More effort must be made to make meaningful cuts in state agency budgets.
In spite of the large amount of legislation dealt with this weekend, I am happy to report that the majority of my legislation has moved effectively through the House, and was sent to the Senate at the “Crossover.” It is my hope that these bills will be given the same favorable response and passed into law.
