The 1991 national campaign theme for the American Heart Association is “Women and Heart Disease."
Why? Most of us have considered ' heart disease as primarily a man’s problem. However, recent research has revealed that coronary heart disease (CHD) is the leading cause of death in women over the age of 50.
From Feb. 1 through Feb. 24, a team of Rappahannock County volunteers will visit the homes of their friends and neighbors to ask for contributions to continue the good work of the American Heart Association.
Please open your homes, and your hearts, to these campaign workers when they call on you. Rappahannock County has earned a reputation for being generous to this worthy cause in the past.
