Friday against Luray the Junior Panthers built a 26-16 halftime lead and went on to win easily, 45-25. Butler had 18, Jeff Atkins (in for Brown) had seven and O’Meara six.
“The key to the game was an excellent 17-5 first-quarter start,” said Coach Leake. “I was anxious as to how we would respond after losing our second leading scorer.”
The Luray and Warrenton wins were especially sweet because those two teams are the only ones to beat the Junior Panthers this season.
“It was a total team contribution to win these two games,” said Coach Leake.
The Junior Panthers finish their season at 3:30 p.m. Friday vs. Stonewall Jackson-Mount Jackson.
Woodville student
honored by college
Douglas S. Kilpatrick, the son of Sean and Sharon Kilpatrick of Woodville, was named a Presidential Scholar for the fall 1991 semester at Clarkson University in Potsdam, N.Y.
He achieved a GPA above 3.8 and carried at least 14 credit hours to qualify.
Mr. Kilpatrick is a freshman majoring in aeronautical engineering.

Army Sgt. Michael R. Hubert, a cannon crewman, has arrived for duty at Fort Richardson, Alaska. His wife, Julie, is the daughter of John W. and Dorthy Pullen of Sperryville.
