Ki Theatre will feature musiciancomposer Paul Reisler in a program of his own songs and instrumental music in the Ki Theatre Building on Gay Street, Washington, Va. at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 16.
The event is the second evening of a four-part series called “The Exchange,” which features area artists in performance, followed by dialogue with the audience.
The theme of this year’s “Exchange” is the interrelationship of the artist with the community, and how it affects the work of the artist and the cultural life of the community.
In keeping with this theme, Mr. Reisler will perform a series of his songs and instrumentals that have been inspired by life in rural America. One such composition, an instrumental entitled “Rappahannock,” will be featured as theme music for a new 10-part PBS series on rural America this fall.
In addition to the new PBS series, Mr. Reisler’s compositions are part of two new Narada releases— “Childhood Remembered” and “Wisdom of the Wood.”
