’Man Drilling’
'Man Drilling' is part of a series of paintings by Ned Bittinger, prominent portraitist and artist who, with his wife Mary, moved to to Rappahannock four months ago. While waiting for their new house to be built, the Bittingers are renting a home in Flint Hill.
Chester Gap carnival
The Chester Gap Volunteer Fire Deparmtent firemen's carnival will be held July 22-25.
Performances during t£ie week will include: Wednesday night Gary Desper and the Page County Ramblers from 8-9 p.m. and from 10-11 p.m., Thursday night Stonebridge will perform for two shows "also at 8-9 p.m. and 10-11 p.m., Friday ' C* night Shenandoah will perform 8-9 p.m. and 10-11 p.m. and on Saturday Jerry Williams and the Mystic Sound will perform 8-9 p.m. and 10-11 p.m.
The 7th annual horseshoe pitch will be held at 12 noon Saturday. Also Saturday night box suppers will be available and the grand prize will be given away. "There will be games, food and fun for all. Come, help support your local fire department," said an organizer.
‘Great Races’ at Library
The race is on! Join the Rappahannock County Library's Reading Team and become a gold-medal reader. Inspired by the Olympics, storyteller Mike Dunnigan will present at program on "Great Races" at 10 a.m. on July 22. Children of all ages are invited to come to the library and "Reach for it. Read!"
New cards mailed
Due to the fact that Rappahannock's Congressional District has beerr changed from 7th to 10th, the Voter Registration Office has announced that new voter registration cards have been mailed out. Individuals w|io think they are registered and don't receive a card or receive a card with the wrong information, please contact the office at 675-3739.
