Brown escaped.
“As far as we know he’s not armed now,” Sheriff Woodward said late Tuesday afternoon. “I feel like he’s probably still in the Sperryville area, and I don’t think that he’s a threat to anyone physically.”
Brown is a white male, 27, six feet tall, weighing 200 pounds. He has medium-length brown hair and blue eyes. He was clean-shaven when he escaped from the jail. When he was last seen Monday afternoon, the sheriff said, he was dressed in camoflague.

Sheriff Woodward cautioned residents against leaving vehicles unlocked or with keys in the ignition, and suggested that they lock their doors, whether at home or away.
