Gwen Bright
Melissa Gwen Bright, 17, of Sperryville, died Tuesday, July 7 at Fairfax Hospital.
Miss Bright was bom Sept. 25, 1974, the daughter of Margaret Bright and Claude Bright, both of Sperryville.
She was a 1992 graduate of Rappahannock High School and attended Sperryville United Methodist Church.
Survivors in addition to her mother and father include three brothers, Gary Bright, Donald Bright and Daniel Bright, all of Sperryville; grandmothers, Carrie Jenkins of Sperryville and Bessie Bright of Middleburg and two nephews, Christopher Bright and Timothy Sisk.
She was preceeded in death by a brother, Gregory Allen Bright who died Jan. 30, 1991.
Funeral services were held Saturday, July 11 at Sperryville United Methodist Church with the Rev. Merlin Shorb officiating. Burial was in Sperryville cemetery.
Pallbearers were Bruce Frye, Ronald Jenkins, Frank Jenkins, Frank Jenkins Jr., Jeff Jenkins, Tommy Jenkins, Roger Jenkins and Charles Frye.
Clore Funeral Home in Culpeper was in charge of the arrangements.
Curtiss Zinn
Curtiss Cedric Zinn, 91, of Amissville, died Tuesday, July 7 at Warrenton Overlook Care Center.
Mr. Zinn was bom Jan. 17, 1901 in Phillippi, W.Va., the son of the late Sylvanis Waldo and Helen Lorena Harris Zinn.
He was a self-employed businessman having operated a service station and greenhouse and a member of Amissville Baptist Church.
Survivors include four daughters, Helen Z. Bricker of Columbus, Ohio and JoAnne Tilley, Nancy Nicholas and Dorothy Hackley, all of Amissville; two sons, Frank R. Zinn of Culpeper and Henry W. Zinn of Gainesville; 13 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his wife of 70 years, Hazel Bennett Zinn who died Feb. 9, 1992; a son, Paul C. Zinn and a daughter C. Luerena Zinn.
Funeral services were held Friday, July 10 at Moser Funeral Home in Warrenton with Rev. Thomas Everett and Rev. Peter Weems officiating. Interment was in Amissville Baptist Church cemetery.
