Due to advanced age, distance involved and health conditions, none of our former teachers were in attendance. Nevertheless, many verbal tributes were paid to those who so generously shared their knowledge and patience. On behalf of the fourteen surviving members of the Class of ’39, and to all of our teachers, please know that our lives have been blessed in many special ways for having been associated with you.

To borrow a phrase from the “Yogi Berra” lexicon, this long awaited reunion was indeed “Da Ja Vu, all over again.” About the only thing missing from this “near perfect evening” was an orchestra playing softly in the background and the strains of “Time Was" wafting on the breeze.

In a more serious vein, this “return to Rappahannock” afforded for me, and, I suspect for the others as well, many cherished moments to keep us fresh for the rest of the way.
