Rep. J. Kenneth Robinson,
Seventh District Congressman and Republican candidate for re-election in the fall, spoke at a dinner in his honor Saturday night at Rappahannock Ski Lodge. A group of old-line Republicans were joined by a large turn out of so-called Independents or Democrats for Robinson. “They could be called either, said Mrs. W. Arthur Miller, one of the members of the dinner committee. The Congressman was introduced by Dr. Carroll Quaintance, chairman of the Republican Party in Rappahannock and a short talk by Douglas Baumgardner told the views of the young people concerning the GOP candidate. Mr. Robinson said he was working hard to “justify the confidence” of his backers. He said he felt there was a gap between the party he represented and the party represented there, but he felt he was also truly among friends. Robinson never mentioned a name but referred to a
