“Ridiculous Reasons for Romance” is the theme of a musical cabaret that will take place at The Theatre at Washington, Va. at 8 p.m. on Saturday, July 18. Soundstage, a youthful musical ensemble based in Charlottesville, will explore in song the wide gamut’of emotions - amazement, delight, confusion, astonishment, rapture, indignation, enchantment - that make up the overwhelming emotion which we call love.
‘“Ridiculous Reasons for Romance’ is by turn tender, revealing, touching and funny," said Ms. Weinberg. Fresh new arrangements of long-time favorites such as “Porgy and Bess,” “All is Fair in Love,” and “It’s a Grand Night for Singing" are the kinds of music performed by Soundstage.
