American Artist Magazine’s national competition in 1985 with an exhibition at Grand Central Galleries in New York.
In 1990, he was chosen as one of 50 American artists to be part of the Washington Moscow art exchange. He spent a week in Moscow during the exhibition of his work at Tretyakow Gallery and then hosted a Russian artist during the Washington exhibit last October.
Mary Hittinger has not only been very much involved in her husband’s career, (she is a brutal, but helpful critic, said her husband,) but she had her own business for some years managing portrait painters. She said she honed her talents for the business managing her husband’s work.
