tion of French I. French teacher Cynthia Wayland will also be teaching two sections of French II, one section of French III, and one section of French IV-V. In order not to lose her future students Mrs. Wayland will also be teaching at the elementary school, offering a semester of French culture and language to sixth and seventh graders.
Besides the Spanish, new classes at the high school will be one semester of international relations and one semester of creative writing. To offer these new courses, the classes in drama and humanities will be one semester courses rather than full year courses as they have been in the past.
Most of the high school faculty is unchanged, but there will be a new home economics teacher and two new teachers for special education.
On the sports field, soccer will become a spring sport. Mr. Carter said he already has eight games scheduled and hopes to schedule four more. The school system is looking for a coach for the soccer team.
Tim Corder has his cross country team practicing already, and Mike Tupper and David van de Graaff are jointly coaching the girls varsity and junior varsity basketball teams.
At the elementary school, besides the introduction of French in sixth and seventh grade, the major change in curriculum will be teaching fourth graders computer keyboarding.
