The Panthers managed to tie the score early in the third quarter, but did not take a lead until late in that period 46-45 when Erwin Philips made a free throw. Rapp than carried a 52-45 lead into the final period.
But Stonewall Jackson managed a come back and led 55-54 with 5:20 left. The score was tied at 57 each with 4:58 left and at 59 each with 4:05 remaining. In the last three minutes the Generals managed to cling to a 6061 lead and increased it to 63-60 with 1:56 left. Jeff Atkins pulled the Panthers back, and they trailed 63-62 with 30 seconds left. Jeff Atkins pulled the Panthers ahead 64-63, and then Jason Baldwin stole the inbounds pass to put the final margin of victory on.
