Rappahannock News Staff Writer , The RCHS JV Wrestling team, in ;its first year, is making an impression ;on the competition.
Against Brentsville, last year's state champions, the RCHS players managed five pins, losing 48 to 30.
Pins were recorded for freshman Chad Heddleston in the 103 weight class, eighth grader Thomas Lee in the 119 weight class, sophomore Tommy Baldwin in the 135 weight class, freshman Chris Graves in the 152 pount class and junior Dean Payne in the 189 pound class.
Then Monday the. team took on Strasburg, another team that competes at the state's highest level, and scored 34 points to Strasburg’s 48.
Again Thomas Lee had a pin in the 119 weight class. Mark Komar had a pin in the 112 pound class Mark Williams had a win in the 119 weight class. Jeff Hudson had a pin in .the 130 weight class. Tommy Baldwin had another pin in the 135 pound class. Dean Payne defeated his opponent 15-1 in the 189 pound class, and heavyweight Jason Kuykendall won his match in the 275-pound class.
