The Trading Post, . near Washington, Va. off U.S. 211, received what is believed to have been a prank call this past week from someone attemoting to buy explosives.
Owner Ken Carter received the call, reported Lt. Larry Sherertz of the Rappahannock Sheriff’s Office, and informed the person that the store did not deal in that type of item and indeed it would be illegal for him to do so. Carter received the call about 5 p.m. on Oct. 17 and, after talking with the caller, he called the sheriff’s office to report it That office turned the incident over to the Bureau of Alcohol, Tbbacco and Firearms which investigates such incidents. The incident is under investigation by the ATF.
