This week marks the 21st anniversary of the Watts Barbershop located on Main Street in Washington, Va. Mr. Watts expressed his gratitude to his clientele for their patronage and the opportunity to serve them. Mrs. James W. Coates of Sperryville has been named to serve as the member of the Rappahannock County Board of Supervisors from the Piedmont District. She will fill file seat left vacant with the death of E.M. Estes who had been a member of the board for 16 years.

The Sixth Grade 4-H Club elected Tammy Settle as president at the October meeting of the group and Aletha Atkins was named vice president. Acting as secretary-treasurer is Judy Lynn and Melanie Burke is reporter. Sheila Jenkins will be the song leader. The group will call themselves the Cool Cats, according to the reporter.

Amissville Baptist Church’s centennial celebra* tion will be held Oct. 30 beginning at 11 a.m. followed by dinner on the grounds and a music program in the afternoon. Commemorative plates , will be sold. Representing Rappahannock at the Regional Governor’s School in Culpeper were: Danny Lane, Katherine Krebser, Shannon Eastham, Susan Jewell, Johanna Tole, Joe Dunagan, Derek Daczewitz, Melanie Moffett, Bonnie Jewell and Jason Fox.
