Exhibition at Linden Vineyards

Sara Schneidman’s original paintings and prints are on view and for sale through the holidays at the Linden Vineyards. Jeanne Drevas’ wall quilts created from Hmong hill tribe fabrics collected in Thailand will be on view and for sale through Nov. 29. For more information call Linden Vineyards at 364-1997.

Dance scheduled at Amissville

A dance will be held at the Amiss'ille Volunteer Fire and Rescue building on Saturday, Oct. 24 with music by River Bottom. This will be a smoke free dance and proper dress is required which means no shorts, no jeans with holes and shirts must have collars.

Fall auction and party set

The Child Care and Learning Center will be having their third annual fall auction and party on Nov. 14 from 7 to 10 p.m. Entrance fee of $10 includes drinks and hor d’oeuvres. There will be a tag sale, a silent auction, and a live auction during the evening. Live auction begins at 8 p,m. “Come join us for an elegant evening,” said an organizer.

Benefit dance planned

A benefit dance for Southern Persuasion will held on Saturday, Oct. 31 at Flint Hill Fire Hall from 9:30 p.m. until. Costumes are welcome. For more information call Connie Huff-Harris at 675-3389.

Fundraiser underway

The Rappahannock County High School Athletic Boosters are beginning their main fundraiser of the year. For a donation of $20 you could win the grand prize of $1,000; second place $750 and third place $250. Prizes will be given away at the Dec. 18 boy’s varsity basketball game. You do not need to be present to win. Proceeds benefit the athletes and the athletic department. ‘There are only 200 tickets available, so get yours now,” said an organizer. Tickets are available from any booster member or at any home game.

Halloween dance scheduled

The Sperryville Fire Department Auxiliary will be having a Halloween dance on Saturday, Oct. 31 from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. There will be a costume contest and costumes are optional. Music will be provided by the D.J. Connection. Tickets are $10 per person. You must purchase your tickets in advance. No tickets will be sold at the door. No one under 21 will be allowed.
