Barnes and Hampton and will include Celtic and Renaissance music from Ireland, Scotland, Brittany and Gallicia, the Celtic redoubt of Northwestern Spain and traditional American Blues. They have arranged the blues pieces in a totally different and interesting way, said Barnes. The pieces — “Come Back Baby,” “Mississippi Blues” and “Matchbox Blues” — are presented as a suite.
“Frequently people who do concerts play within one genre, but we don’t,” he said. “It makes it more fun for us and for the audience.”
The evening will include poetry, ancient lore and stories from Celtic Europe, as well.
And, says Barnes, “Allison will play a very different harp solo from the Isle of Mann.”
They may even do one or two songs from their new album which will be on sale at the concert. Barnes said they are looking for a local distributor for the album.
