meeting for the commission is at 7:30 p.m. on Oct. 26 at the town hall.

Council member Charlie Tompkins presented a slide show of the Wastewater Study Committee’s trip to Watoga State Park in West Virginia. A committee meeting will be held at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 21 at the Town Hall to discuss the next step in the process.

Ray Gooch spoke about progress on a visitor’s bulletin board, now called a kiosk, with his recommendation for it to be placed near the Post Office flagpole. Two designs were being considered and given to potential contractors without specifications for the interior. Three bids were received, but the $2,000 difference between them was attributed to the interior, said Gooch.

The kiosk will be designed to display maps of the county and town with pockets for business brochures and space for community notices and activity announcements. It will be built so it can be relocated.

This being a logical breakpoint in the project, Gooch said he wished to resign his position as the bulletin board project coordinator, and he deferred details on the kiosk
