• Fall is in the air in the Rappahannock County Public Schools! Cross Country teams are competing. Winter sports teams are practicing. Primary students are getting ready for Thanksgiving celebrations... and Sj^much more. It’s a wonderful season and we all have so much.for which to be thankful. We should all count our many blessings every day.
• Mrs. Cindy Simpson’s third grade class was treated to a visit by some very special guests from the Pentagon last week. The students had sent notes of encouragement to folks working at the Pentagon following the Sept. 11 attack. The recipients were so touched by the children’s messages that they planned a trip to Rappahannock to thank the students in person. This was surely a visit the children will never forget. What a worderful lesson in the importance of showing compassion to others!
• The RCES Extended Day Program has begun. Students in selected grades between 2 and 7 may stay after school on Tuesdays and Thursdays to receive additional help in a variety of areas. Bus transportation is provided. If you would like more information on this program, please talk to your child’s teacher, or call the RCES office at 987-8259.
