One of the pictures is of part of a face, featuring serious and thoughtful eyes. A close look shows that the nose is partly composed of tree trunks. Two of the images are of an angel, perhaps a statue, holding a mirror which reflects a different scene each time. Self’s handling of her subject matter makes her pictures mysterious.
