ed with pious thoughts, Aloysius knew that a Christian must live every moment in the shadow of death. He knew that every moment must be spent glorifying God. He also knew the power of God and the state of his soul. Without interrupting the game, he said that if he knew the world was coming to an end today, the first thing he would do would be to sipk that eight ball in the corner pocket.
Our preparation for death need: not be a cause for alarm. (If there is cause for alarm, sincere repentance and turning to the Lord is the only remedy.) With the grace of God, we must cultivate a vigilant spiritual life, persevere in virtue and be serenely confident that God will deliver on his promises.
