The varsity boys' basketball team dropped two contests for the week losing to Stonewall Jackson 73-62 and to George Mason 68-50.
The team played very well at stretches in both games but coulcTnot get over the hump to secure that elusive first win.
Against . Stonewall, the Generals jumped out to an 1811 first quarter lead but the Panthers behind John and David Letsen cut the lead to two, 35-33 at the half. The third quarter was played very evenly with the Generals holding a three-point lead heading into the final quarter. The Generals used their inside game to outscore the Panthers 20-12 in the last quarter for the win. David Letsen had 18 points to lead the Panthers while Kerry Grigsby had 16 and John Letsen^ 13 points for Rappahannock.
The team also played George Mason very close for the first half but the Mustangs pulled away in the second half to gain the victory. The Panthers are 0-14 on the season and 0-8 in the Bull Run.
