A hike to Devil's Stairs
The Ragged Mountain Resource Center is sponsoring a hike to Big Devil’s Stairs on Saturday, Feb. 8. This is a moderately difficult hike to a beautiful and rather remote area. Participants should be in decent physical shape for the steep terrain. Meet at Mountainside Market in Sperryville between 8-8:30 a.m. Bring nourishment and layerable clothing. Headwaters to meet
The February meeting of the board of directors of Headwaters, the Rappahannock County Public Education Foundation, will take place on Monday, Feb. 10 at 7 p.m. at the county extension office on Gay Street in Washington. The meeting is open to the public.
‘Never give up' on Feb. 15
Macedonia Baptist Church will present a production, “Never Give Up," on Saturday, Feb. 15 at 5 p.m. at the church in Flint Hill. The cast of 30.with drama and song, will commemorate the heritage of those who never gave up seeking freedom.
Gid Brown Church revival
Everyone is welcome to attend a revival with special singing on Feb. 17-19 at 7:30 p.m. at the Gid Brown Bible Baptist Church in Washington with Pastor Don McCann of Kinsport, Tenn. officiating. There will be a nightly nursery.

Trout Unlimited meets
The public is invited to hear James Atkinson, Fisheries and Wildlife Biologist of the Shenandoah National Park discuss “The Aquatic Macroinvertebrate and Fisheries Monitoring Programs in the Shenandoah National Park” on Wednesday, Feb. 12 at 7:30 p.m. in the Rappahannock County Library. Ki Theatre holds auditions
Ki Theatre will hold open auditions on Sunday, Feb. 9 from 1-5 p.m. for roles in the April production of Dylan Thomas' lyrical, funny and sly play, “Under Milk Wood” about the inhabitants of a small Welsh fishing village. Co-directors Betsy Toth and Joyce Abell welcome everyone interested in reading for a part in the 15-member cast. Rehearsals will be held on Sundays from 2-4 p.m. Contact is Joyce Abell, 9878408.
Life Stories workshops
Two Life Stories workshops taught by Julie Portman are scheduled for Feb. 7-9 (advanced) and Feb. 21-23 (introductory). The advanced workshop focuses on the dramatic structure of a well-told and written story and shows how to use an interview process to write another person’s story. Casino Night Feb. 15
The third annual Casino Night sponsored by the Rappahannock County School Sports Association will begin at 7 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 15 at the Washington School on Mt. This affair benefits the athletic programs at the county public schools.
