The Fauquier Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) office located in Warrenton is scheduled to reopen on Thursday, Feb. 20, after being shut down four months ago.
Former DMV manager Clara Frazier of Amissville said was contacted late last week and told she would be called back to duty at her former position and at her former office.
“It’s life back to normal,” she said.
Frazier added that, if all goes well, the familiar faces of Warrenton’s DMV would ■“return too.
“Everyone was recalled, even my former colleagues who had been assigned to other DMV offices, have been given the opportunity to come back to^ [the Fauquier] office,” she said.
Frazier, who has been out of work since Nov. 1 said the furloughed life is a life of uncertainty. She said simply things like making a dentist appointment or family vacation plans were difficult because her future was still up in the air.
“When your life has been turned upside down it’s very hard just to do day-to-day functions,” she said.
Frazier said she and her assistant manager, April Weaver, return to work Monday, Feb. 10 to prepare for the re-opening, which won’t be definite until the governor signs the budget. She said her clerks were asked to report
