If you close your eyes long enough and listen to the bluegrass music playing above the roar of passing motorcycles and smell the BBQ sauce cutting through the odor of engine exhaust at Cooter’s Place in Sperryville, you can almost picture Boss Hogg and Rosco P. Coltrane stumbling and bumbling out of the Hazzard County Courthouse in hot pursuit of them up-to-no-good Duke boys.
“Beats all you ever saw, been in trouble with the law since the day they was born,” as the theme song goes.
Of course, Bo, Luke, Daisy, Uncle Jessie and whatever long lost cousin happened to be visiting that week never had to worry because they had good ole’ Cooter keeping a close eye on the “bossman” and the sheriff from across the street at Cooter’s Garage.
Cooter has been keeping a close eye on the entire cast of Duke characters, but just a little farther north of Hazzard, Ga. . in Rappahannock County, Va.
