The Sheriffs Office is looking for eight professional, dedicated individuals who are interested in a career in law enforcement with the fastest growing county in the Commonwealth of Virginia. Applications are being accepted for Correctional Officers for 40-hour per week positions that offer competitive salary and benefits. The Sheriffs Office offers numerous specialized positions within the agency after all schooling, training and probation has been completed. All applications must satisfactorily complete a six-month training academy and a field training program. Minimum requirements are High School diploma or GED. Applicants must be a U S citizen and 21 years of age, or within 90 days of their 21st birthday at time of application. Selection process includes preliminary screening, polygraph examination, background interview, psychological evaluation, physical evaluation (to include drug screening), and an intensive background investigation.
