Photo courtesy/Kathie Russo Flint Hill resident Doran Matthews, a 10th grader at ‘Wakefield Country Day School, recently presented Dr. Julie Lurie, Wakefield's ninth and tenth grade English teacher, with a beautiful, wood-carved lectern that he created to replace the English Department’s old podium, which was in disrepair. Dorian has spent most of his October weekends and days off at Flint Hill's Braeland Studios working on this woodworking project. The word “Raven" is carved down the front, in honor of Edgar Allen Poe’s poem, “The Raven.”
