“Enroll property in conservation easement - According to County Administrator John McCarthy: “Property covered by a conservation easement is valued by the state at its “Use Value" (quite a bit lower than fair market value) in calculating state (school) aid. benefiting local taxpayers."
“Enroll children in the RCPS - The more students who attend the RCPS. the more state “basic aid" will be provided to the RCPS. The RCPS gains about $1,800 per each student enrolled in the RCPS. Conversely, the RCPS loses about $1,800 per each student not enrolled in the RCPS. According to Superintendent Dr. Bob Chappell: “It's not just t» dollars and cents issue. We truly want to serve every Rappahannock child, and hope that parents will select the RCPS when they make educational decisions for their family"

On Friday, April 4. there will be an auction at the RCPS bus garage at 5 p.m. This is the only process by which schools can sell old equipment. For sale will be two school buses, a 1991 Toyota four-wheel drive that can be used
