In celebration of its 210th anniversary, the United States Marine Band inaugurated a retrospective series of concerts. Rappahannock resident, Colonel (ret.) John R. Bourgeois, the 25th director of “The President’s Own”, will be featured in a concert at 2 p.m. on the April 20 at the Rachel Schlesinger Concert Hall in Alexandria, Va. Bourgeois, who led the band from 1979 to 1996, will conduct a program featuring music he commissioned for the band and music associated with important events related to his career. The concert is titled “tempo di Bourgeois,”
