National Bank is underwriting the cost of the race numbers, and On the Run Sports is donating sports mugs to be presented as prizes. Water stations will be provided through the sponsorship of local businesses. Their names and those of the other generous sponsors will be listed not only in this paper, but also on display boards at the finish line of the race. Those sponsors who have websites may also have arranged to have links to their own sites made accessible from the Fodderstack 10K website. We want to thank sponsors publicly because it is thanks to them that the race can take place at all, and through the race, funds can be raised for maintenance and improvements of the county’s recreational park.
As of Friday, March 28, we have 92 registered runners - 51 males and 41 females. Last year we had over 300 runners so if you are interested in breaking records, fill out a registration form and get out and start practicing running now? While we want as many local runners as possible, we also welcome with open arms runners from elsewhere. Runners from Illinois, New Mexico, Maryland, District of Columbia, and other parts of Virginia have registered, as has one runner from the United Kingdom. The UK runner will be on his honeymoon and is including the Fodderstack 10K in his travels.
